Tower Operator

The Tower Operator is responsible for controlling the workflow in the shop from work orders written by the Service Advisors. The Tower Operator will schedule service vehicles in accordance with customer specifications and technician skill levels. The Tower Operator will also be expected to relay work orders, messages, and information to or from the technicians and other service employees. The Tower Operator will be required to determine technician workloads and juggle multiple deadlines to ensure consistent shop production.

Job Training

A Tower Operator requires some technical training and previous experience in the automotive industry. Training for this position is often provided on-the-job by the Service Manager or other dealership staff.
